Start

It's usually every day that I find myself jotting down ideas to blog about. Or at least making a mental note of the ideas and stories I have to share. And then I circle back to the idea that I must do a first post. An intro. A welcome.

Which is, in other words, a big fat excuse and distraction as to why I can't get started.

Then it became about the images and finding the right one, or the only one, or the best one. Say it with me now: excuses.

Here is the truth: it is on us to start. To pick up the pen and start to write, to open our mouths and begin to sing, to pick up the guitar that's sitting lonely in the corner staring at us, to lace up our running shoes and get outside, to pick up the phone and call the person we're afraid to. It's on us. And that is some heavy responsibility filled with fears, doubts, and what-if's.

But if we don't do it, it will never be done. It will never exist. The masterpiece that only you can create, the love that only you can give, will never be out in the world. It will stay bottled up within you.

So let's do this together: take a deep breath and today, challenge yourself to start or do the thing you've been meaning to do for awhile now. Be brave.

Go get your dreams, friends.
